Effective date: 26 July 2026 (last updated 5 September 2026) — Technesium Solutions Pvt Ltd (“Technesium”, “we”).

VocalCoach is built so that we cannot read your data — not “will not”, cannot.

What we collect

Nothing. VocalCoach has no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no tracking, and no Technesium servers. We never see your voice, your recordings, your practice history, or your identity.

Where your data lives

  • On your device. Your practice history, scores, settings and recordings are stored on your device, encrypted at rest (AES-256). Recordings are additionally protected with a key held in your device keychain.

  • In your private iCloud (optional). If you sign in with Apple, your practice data syncs between your devices through your private iCloud database, end-to-end encrypted with a key that exists only in your iCloud Keychain. Technesium holds no servers, no accounts database, and no copy of your key. Apple's infrastructure stores only ciphertext we cannot decrypt.

  • Sign in with Apple gives the app only an anonymous account identifier. We request no name and no email. You can use the entire app without signing in at all.

The microphone

The microphone is used for two things, both on your device.

Live pitch feedback while you practise. Audio is analysed on the device in real time. Nothing you sing leaves your device unless you save a recording — and saved recordings are encrypted and stay in your storage (device + your private iCloud), never ours.

Reference voices. You can record a voice singing each swara — your teacher's, or your own — and practise against it. Those recordings are encrypted and kept in the app's own storage on this device only: they are deliberately excluded from device backup, so unlike your practice history they do not travel to iCloud or to your other devices. Deleting a voice in the app erases every swara recorded for it from the device, and deleting your account removes them too. If you record someone else, please ask them first; we never receive the audio either way, because there is nowhere for it to go.

Sharing a performance video. When you export a performance video, the app builds it in a temporary folder — and because a shareable video has to contain audible singing, that file holds a decrypted copy of your recording. It stays on your device unless you send it somewhere yourself. The folder is emptied the next time you open the app, and also when you delete all recordings or erase your account.

On Apple TV. tvOS asks for camera permission when VocalCoach uses a nearby iPhone as its microphone over Continuity Camera. That is the only reason it is ever requested: the app captures no video and never opens the camera to take pictures.

Apple Music and iTunes Search

If you play original songs, playback happens through Apple Music under your own Apple Music subscription and Apple's privacy policy. The app also queries Apple's public iTunes Search API to find instrumental versions; those queries contain song titles, not your identity.

Local network

The “phone as microphone” and device-sync features connect your own devices directly over your local network (Bonjour/peer-to-peer). No data transits the internet or any server.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We receive no payment details.

Deleting your data

  • Without an account: delete the app — everything is on your device, so nothing remains anywhere.

  • With an account: Settings → Account → Delete Account erases your data from your private iCloud and the device, and destroys the encryption key. This is immediate and irreversible. We hold nothing to delete on any server, because we have no servers.

Children

VocalCoach does not knowingly collect any personal information — from anyone, of any age — because it collects none at all.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Because the app's architecture is serverless, changes can only make disclosures more specific, not grant us access we do not have.
